Marco, a young Italian who has never visited China, finds himself in an extraordinary dream one night. In this dream, he embarks on a journey across four remarkable Chinese cities, discovering their history, traditions, and everyday life through the people he meets and the world around him.
His journey begins in Dunhuang, where golden deserts and ancient murals tell stories of the Silk Road. He then travels to Chang'an, where bustling streets bring the grandeur of ancient China to life. In Hangzhou, he discovers the quiet beauty of West Lake, tea culture, and life beside the water. Finally, he reaches Quanzhou, a historic maritime city where different cultures have met for centuries.
As Marco explores these places, every encounter, every landscape, and every small discovery becomes part of an unforgettable story. Gradually, he realizes that China is far more than the distant country he once imagined. It is a living world of people, memories, and stories waiting to be experienced.
When the dream finally ends, Marco awakens at an airport. But instead of leaving these places behind as memories of a dream, he makes a decision: one day, he will see China with his own eyes.
And before his story can truly end, there is still one thing left to do.
