PRACTICAL GUIDANCE
Leave payment accounts in good order
Resolve pending transactions before unlinking cards or losing access to verification messages.
First distinguish card charges from wallet money
A purchase funded by a linked foreign card is different from money held in a wallet balance. Refund routes and withdrawal options depend on the original transaction, the provider and your account. We do not claim a universal method to withdraw a foreign visitor’s Alipay or WeChat balance.
A sensible final review
Use the genuine app and the merchant or provider’s support channel.
- Review open rides, hotel deposits, refunds and merchant disputes.
- Save receipts, order references and the funding source used for important purchases.
- Check whether a refund is pending before removing a card or closing an account.
- If a wallet has a balance, read its current withdrawal or closure instructions and confirm that your account qualifies.
- Keep access to the registered phone number and email until pending matters are resolved.
- Only then change cards, phone numbers or account settings according to the provider’s instructions.
Avoid unofficial cash-out offers
Do not hand over an account, verification code or payment credential to someone offering to “empty” a wallet. If the app does not offer the function you need, contact official support. An unavailable withdrawal route should be treated as a support question, not bypassed through a stranger.
Useful questions
Will deleting the app refund the balance?
No. Uninstalling an app is not a refund request or account closure. Follow the provider’s actual process.
Can I unlink a card while a refund is pending?
Ask the provider and issuer before changing the payment setup. Keep the transaction details and account access until the refund is resolved.
